How can I get from the airport to the apartment?

Our guests love the airport transfer with the trusted local NYC taxi service that we offer. For a totally smooth check-in, our driver can pick you up from the airport or train station and bring you directly to the apartment. The same service is available for departure.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, but since we do not have 24-hour staff, we simply need to know your estimated time of arrival to avoid having you wait for us on the street. Using our local, trusted taxi service is recommended.

If you arrive after 8:00 PM, it is considered a Late Arrival and requires specific instructions. For late check-ins, we kindly request the following:

 

  1. Please use our trusted local taxi driver who is familiar with the building and can bring you from the airport and ensure you gain entry to the apartment.
  2. The balance payment for your reservation must be paid by credit or debit card in advance. No cash payments are accepted with late check-ins.

If you prefer to be greeted by one of our staff members upon late arrival, there is a late check-in fee.

Check-out is at 10:00 AM or earlier on your day of departure. You may leave via your own transport or by our trusted taxi service.

Is late check-out available?

Late check-out can be confirmed the day before departure only for an extra charge. If the apartment is free on the night of your departure, we will gladly accommodate you. If you are interested in the late check-out option, please ask us at check-in. For a guaranteed late check-out in advance, you would have to pay for a full additional night so we can block the night of your departure.

My departure flight isn’t until later in the day. Can I store luggage at the apartment?

Because our rentals are real homes, we do not have the space to accommodate luggage after checkout. If you do not need access to the apartment but only would like luggage storage for your last day, we have made arrangements with our local taxi to store bags in the office at a charge of $5 per bag, but only if you use them for departure airport transfer.

Your bags are picked up at 10:00 AM and the taxi returns at a pre-arranged time (with your bags) for the airport transfer. Our guests like and appreciate this system so they can enjoy the last day in the city.

Can I have packages delivered during my stay?

We do not have a front desk to receive parcels or letters, so if you need something delivered, you must be home to accept it. Another option is to make use of East Village Postal at 151 1st Avenue Eastvillagepostal They can accept your parcels or letters for $5 per item.

They will send us an email as soon as your package is delivered, and we will notify you by email. You must pick up the box within 3 days of delivery (storage charge after 3 days). We cannot pick it up for you.

What is your cancellation and reservation change policy?

Due to our small size, cancellations and changes affect us significantly. We encourage you to buy trip insurance to cover any changes in your travel plans including last-minute medical emergencies. All cancellations must be in writing.

The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel after reservation, and the total price if they cancel within 60 days before arrival. Date changes only over 60 days of your arrival dates can be charged a flat change fee of $75.00.

Is there parking available?

Free street parking can be found on the street in the surrounding neighborhoods, although it can be difficult to find and there are multiple street cleaning blocks and other restrictions, so please be cautious about the signage in the specific place you find to park.

For our guests seeking an easier alternative, at Icon Parking is located on 19th Street and 3rd Avenue, approximately 1.5 blocks walking distance from Gramercy Townhouse. Rates vary depending on the seasons and availability, but you may check with the garage for pricing if you are unable to locate free street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods.

While you are with us, we highly recommend using public transit, taxis, or ride-sharing apps, as driving in New York City can be expensive and time-consuming.

What’s a mid stay clean?

All stays will have a weekly cleaning by our trusted housekeeper from 10 am to 4 pm. We will inform you of the date in advance. You do not have to be present during this cleaning.

Do your buildings have elevators?

Unfortunately, our historic brownstones do not feature elevators and are not ADA accessible. Be prepared to climb up to 3 flights of stairs depending on your rental. When booking, be mindful of which floor your apartment is located on if climbing stairs with your luggage is an issue. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
